About Us
Our Mission: We will champion individuals, organizations, and policies that promote equity and justice. We value community over chaos, education over agitators, and progress over extremism. We're standing up to culture wars, book bans, and efforts to dismantle our public institutions.
Sunrise Alliance for Equity (S.A.F.E.) formed when a few local northeast Michigan professionals, deeply concerned with the attacks on our local library and our schools, approached each other with the idea of starting a political action committee.
The idea is simple; to combat attacks on our community resources and to support candidates and policies that build a more balanced, transparent, and and well-rounded local government.
We don't back parties, we back people.
We are a political action committee, but we are free from party affiliation. We back any local candidate and issue that follows the pillars of our mission:

Educational Opportunity for All - keep our public schools free from politics and personal agendas and focused on student success
